The Tamales Point Trail travels north from Pierce Point Ranch to Tamales Bluff; The bluff overlooks both Bodega Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The trail's rolling hills pass directly throug h a tule elk range. Last time we passed right next to them on the way in. I n the afternoon we only saw them up on the hills. Distance: 9.4 miles out and back Elevation Change: 900 feet Difficulty: Moderate ~9:30 Meet at the Bear Valley Visitor Center in Olema ~10:00 Meet at T omales Point trailhead at Pierce Point Ranch ~12:00pm-1:30pm Lunch at the b luff ~3:30 finish ~5:30 return to Sacramento OR later if you want to stop f or dinner. Turn left an d follow Bear Valley Road 1.75 miles northwest to Sir Francis Drake Bouleva rd. Turn left and follow Sir Francis Drake Boulevard 5.6 miles northwe st to Pierce Point Road. Turn right and follow Pierce Point Road 9 mil es north to the Pierce Point Ranch parking lot.
